Green Valley Gardening was formed in 2020 by horticulturist Hamish Murray, as a high quality garden maintenance and management company. We specialise in year round maintenance of medium to large gardens which require a high level of skill and specialised knowledge to thrive.

Whether you have an established garden or a garden that’s just been designed and built, we have the skills, knowledge and passion to help. We love what we do and are proud to maintain some of Wellington's finest gardens.

We care deeply about the environment and sustainability, which is why we use state of the art battery tools, organic fertilisers and sprays, as well as composting all green waste.

About Me

Hamish Murray

In 2010 I studied horticulture at the Wellington Institute of Technology and for the next decade I worked for local landscaping companies in the Hutt Valley and Wellington, eventually becoming a head gardener, running jobs and training apprentices.

I founded Green Valley Gardening to offer the people of Wellington a high quality garden maintenance service, using methods that are safer for the environment and help encourage garden biodiversity. Our natural-gardening methodology encourages the development of healthy plants and soil. With a passion for the environment and sustainability, we use natural, organic methods as well as battery and hand held tools.
